NENADIC Two Movements for violin and piano. Editio Musica Budapest
Veljko Nenadić (*1988) studied composition in Belgrade with Isidora Žebeljan. His works were awarded at numerous competitions: in 2019, he won the first award at the competition for choral compositions “Ennio Morricone” in Florence, in 2021, his symphonic composition Metamorphosis won at the IM International Competition in Brussels. Two Movements were awarded the first prize at the 2022 Béla Bartók World Competition and was chosen as obligatory piece of the 2023 Béla Bartók World Competition for violin. The composer writes about his work: “Impromptu and Perpetuum mobile, written in early 2022, are contrasting movements. Impromptu is soft, calm, and ambient, featuring rich harmonies and a musical flow that emphasizes color, light, and shadow. As it unfolds, it grows in complexity and dynamics, and in Perpetuum mobile, the music becomes fast, lucid, energetic, restless, and rhythmically, and technically highly challenging.”
