With Reti-co, his latest cabinet collection for Cappellini, Daisuke Kitagawa seamlessly blends Japanese minimalism with contemporary Italian design, creating pieces that are at once timeless, functional, and strikingly modern, perfectly capturing Cappellini’s vision of refined living. Drawing inspiration from the shoji, the traditional Japanese sliding door of wood and paper, Reti-co reimagines the cabinet by eliminating conventional handles. The doors themselves become both structural and aesthetic elements, with a delicate lattice pattern serving as an intuitive, natural grip.
