Athos Faccincani
Campo Di Papaveri
Born in Peschiera del Garda in 1951, Athos Faccincani began painting at a young age. Initially an expressionist, his work later focused on the light and colors of natural landscapes. Early in his career, he visited psychiatric hospitals and prisons to deeply convey pain and anguish. In the 1970s, his thematic exhibition on the Resistance earned him the Cavaliere della Repubblica title from President Sandro Pertini. After a brief hiatus from painting, during which he traveled extensively in southern Italy, Faccincani’s style evolved to embrace Impressionism, showcasing majestic Mediterranean coastlines. His vibrant works depict iconic locations such as Positano, Portofino, Mykonos, and Santorini, capturing their lush beauty with brilliant colors.
