Cassina
7 Siège Tournant, Fauteuil Chair
The Cassina 7 Siège Tournant Fauteuil Chair, originally designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1927, is a reimagined classic that showcases the adaptability and resourcefulness of its creator. Originally crafted in tubular metal and shown at the renowned 1929 Salon d’Automne in Paris alongside works by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, this swivel chair was later produced with locally sourced materials in Vietnam during the war years, reflecting Perriand's commitment to sustainable design. Cassina’s modern reissue respects the original’s aesthetic while introducing a solid wood frame, finished in black enamel, that emphasizes the skill of Cassina’s craftsmen. The design has evolved from the original three-legged model to the four-legged version, providing stability and modern usability without sacrificing the piece’s iconic form.
