Wood Dragon - 80 ml Dai cup

Handcrafted cup by Master Qiu using natural clay from Xishuangbanna, mixed with sand from Mekong river to improve the molding performance and add porosity. The peculiar surface is the result of a particular technique, in which wood is used to impress the texture of bark on the clay.   After being shaped, the cup was wood fired in the kiln at a temperature of 1300-1380°C, giving a special and unique pattern, and glazed with ashes from wild forest herbs and grass from Yunnanese mountains.
