2024 Naka Shu Pu'er tea: Cha Tou 茶头
Chá Tóu 茶头 means "tea head" and is a particular shape of Shupu spontaneously created during the fermentation process, Wo Dui. These dense, naturally formed clusters are cherished for their extraordinary sweetness, creamy texture and nearly inexhaustible brewing endurance. When tea leaves are piled for fermentation, the combination of natural heat, moisture, and pressure causes the leaves to release natural sugars and organic juicy compounds, causing the most rich leaves to stick together and aggregate. Cha Tou are known for their pronounced sweetness given by the concentration of sugars and juices. This Naka Chatou Shupu combines a caramel sweetness with notes of cocoa and dried jujubes, in a creamy and smooth mouthfeel with thick and mellow texture, giving a soft and comforting feeling to the body.
