The Six Ancient Tea Mountains 古六大茶山 - 2025 Sheng Pu'er tea

A selection of the six finest Sheng Pu'er from the historical area of the Six Ancient Tea Mountains, the first ever lands recorded as the premium source of Pu'er tea for the entire Country.  In a record of Qing Dynasty, we read: "Pu'er tea is famous all over the world. It comes from the six tea mountains under Pu'er (prefecture ndr): Youle, Gedeng, Yibang, Mangzhi, Manzhuan, and Mansa, with a circumference of 800 miles. Hundreds of thousands of people go into the mountains to make tea." - Tan Cui Dian Hai Yu Heng Zhi Mansa was later renamed Yiwu and today preserves the historical traces through which we can witness the centuries-long roots of Pu'er tea in this area. Here, as through all of the six ancient tea mountains, forests and gardens of gushu - ancient tea trees - have thrived till today, protected and cared for by generations of local ethnic minorities.  We visit these ancestral lands frequently, with the awe of being in the presence of divine creatures.
