2022 Youle Sheng Pu'er, Wild Forest Stone-pressed cake

This very beautiful cake is strikingly different from those of other mountains in the perfectly balanced aroma of its bright leaves. Its flavor still possesses the fruity hues that characterize the teas of this new harvest, here with fragrant notes of cooked pears and marjoram, yet it is neat and harmonious, and such is the case with all pu'er teas from Youle mountain.  Youle is situated almost at the center of Xishuangbanna prefecture, nearby the banks of Lancang river. It is part of the 6 ancient pu'er tea mountains, from which it gets its complexity and roundness. This strategic terroir gives Youle its perfect balance, yet each new harvest adds a special twist to its impartial taste. In spring 2022, abundant rainfalls gave a more mature and fruity taste to the leaves, and while never exceeding in sweetness or astringency, this tea shows a lively frizziness on the tongue, which sweetens and softens in the aftertaste.
