Xishi 西施 - Yixing Teapot, Benshan Luni green clay

High-grade Yixing clay teapot in Benshan Lu Ni 本山绿泥 green clay, fully handcrafted with experience and passion by our trusty artisan Yuan Weixin.  The hand-carved decoration depicts blossoming flowers together with the calligraphy 倾心向绿杯 from a Tang Dynasty poem. The meaning can be translated as "being full-heartedly drawn to the tea inside the green cup" .The Benshan Lu Ni clay makes it a rare object, with soft green reflections that emphasize the delicacy of the round shape called Xishi 西施. Widely known for its round feminine softness, this shape takes its name from Xishi 西施, a legendary beauty from ancient China. The round ball-shaped filter is composed of the traditional 7 holes, that ensure the best quality brew, and the purest liquor. The type of clay and the shape are especially fit to brew young Shengpu and white teas. The teapot capacity is 160 ml (5.4 oz), and it comes with the artist's signed certificate.
