Tian Di Fang Yuan 天地方圆 - Yixing teapot in Zini purple clay

High-grade Yixing clay teapot fully handcrafted with experience and passion by our trusty artistic couple Lian Meping and Yuan Weixin: Liang Meiping shaped the clay while Yuan Weixin - her husband - engraved the decorations. Each of their teapots has its own personality, which will improve over the years it will spend with you, brew after brew. The teapot is named 天地方圆 (Tiāndì fāngyuán) meaning "heaven and earth, circle and square". The shape of this teapot, made by Lian Meiping, is the perfect encounter between the square firmness of its bottom, grounding it to the table, and the curved softness of its top part, that gives a feeling of lightness. This dual nature is often used to express the roundness of the sky and the squaredness of the earth, reflecting ancient Chinese cosmology, and the duality of yin and yang.
