Monk Hat 高僧帽 - Yixing Teapot

High-grade Yixing clay teapot fully handcrafted with experience and passion by our trusty artist Yuan Weixin. Each of his teapots has its own personality, which will improve over the years it will spend with you, brew after brew. This peculiar shape is called Gāosēng Mào 高僧帽, meaning monk hat. It is a milestone in the history of yixing teapots, first created by master Shi Dabin 时大彬 in Ming dynasty and later made famous by master Gu Jingzhou 顾景舟 (1915-1996). Its purity, without any carvings, enhances the porosity and hues of color of the Zini 紫泥 purple clay, creating a smooth effect, further embellished by a silver lid. The flat internal filter is composed of the traditional 7 holes, that ensure the best quality brew, and the purest liquor. The shape of the teapot, the filter, and the clay, are particularly suitable for dark, red, and wulong teas.
