2019 Autumn Harvest Lunan Shengpu, Ancient Trees Stone-pressed cake

秋 qiu, the Chinese character for Autumn, is composed of the radical 禾 he - grain - that indicates the traditional period for harvest, and 火 huo - fire - as the color of the tree leaves that during this season light up with warm tones of gold and amber. Our Ancient Tea Trees, situated on the peak of Lunan mountain, don't turn red in autumn, but their flavor inherently changes, becoming more mellow and sweet.  The autumn harvest starts in September, after our Spring tea has reached your cups, and surprised your palate. The delicate tea leaves are harvested by hand, and after sun-drying they get pretty hues of dark green, that will become redder and redder as time passes by. The first brews have the full fragrance of wood and wildflowers that characterizes our land, but after the third and fourth brews, a creamy aroma slowly opens, revealing multiple nuances of flavor, new and unknown.
