Tram Tram. Necklace

No clasp chain necklace with a pendant inspired by a 1944 Milan tramway token. Entirely handmade in 925 silver with a vintage finish. Length of the necklace: about 73 cm. Diameter of the token: about 2,3 cm. In 1944, the Milan Tramway Company (now ATM) introduced an unusual item, at least by today’s standards: the tram token. This was created to address the economic difficulties of the time, caused by World War II, and to help finance the company. The token was made of aluminum and had a central hole, making it easy to stack on wooden holders. This specific type was given as change and allowed passengers to take a reduced-fare ride on public transportation.
